Only an inch or so here in Lombard, IL, but it is cold for sure!

GMS Advantage !!!

We wanted to share the latest and greatest from GMS.


This past year we have been working hard to utilize our long standing national relationships to help provide great products and service at excellent pricing to our client courses.


The program is called "GMS Advantage".  This is yet another way GMS helps provide value to your course while gaining efficiencies through our ability to negotiate great pricing on everyday products used in golf course maintenance. 


While these programs are passed on as an "added value" to our clients, all golf courses will have access to these savings and GMS Advantage Membership in 2018.  More on this to come, but this is an exciting time for all courses throughout the country and GMS is very excited about the growing GMS Advantage program!

With Thanksgiving in a couple of days, I wanted to share a few things I am thankful for.  Certainly for family and good health, but also for some of the things we often assume will be there every day.

Carolinas

Headed to the Carolina's chapter show today.


Dean and Dave typically attend, but Dean is doing a walk through for construction / more holes at one of our properties and Dave is enjoying Southern California doing some property coverage.


Looking forward to a jam packed - but great couple of days.

GMS Out and About

After Steve Schendel returned from Rio Bravo CC in Bakersfield, CA, he is now headed to help our friends at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, CA.  Looking forward to a great week next week and helping another of our clients!


Dave Downing in the mean time is at PGA West, Citrus Course for the next couple of weeks.  I'm sure there will be a lot of good things happening at both properties.


Thanks to all of our clients for their trust in GMS.  Our Superintendent Coverage service has been in high demand - we really enjoy the "boots on the ground" hands on experience at these properties.

Welcom Clayton McKinley!!

GMS wants to welcome Clayton McKinley as our new Superintendent at Pueblo Del Sol Country Club in Sierra Vista, AZ.


Clayton has a great background.....Most recently was at Las Campanas in Santa Fe.  Has also been at Old Baldy, Castle Pines and yes....did a stint at Augusta.


GMS is really excited about having Clayton on board and we look forward to helping him grow his career.

I've been working with Andy Heinze the past few days and will be with him again this week.  Congratulations to Andy on being hired as the new Golf Course Superintendent at Rio Bravo CC in Bakersfield, CA.

El Paso, Texas

Bill from GMS was in El Paso this week.  Overseed looking good and capillary concrete bunkers we helped install 18 months ago are fantastic! - Thanks Ted Fist!!

More Progress At Plantation Lakes

Co - Owner of GMS Dean Wochaski was at Plantation Lakes in Millsboro, DE earlier this week.
The progress had been tremendous at this property where GMS provides full service / outsourced golf course maintenance.


This week focused on some continued fairway contouring and sod work around fairway perimeters and other areas. Thanks to Superintendent Nick Larrimore and his team for all of their hard work.  More great things to come at this property - stay tuned!


Yet another property where GMS adds value to our client as we are more than just "routine" maintenance.

Bakersfield, California

I had the pleasure or working with Rio Bravo Country Club from September 25-October 8.  Really enjoyed meeting everyone and getting a chance to work with the maintenance team.


Hoping to have a new Superintendent in place soon and seeing great new things at this property.


The past couple of weeks have been filled with irrigation work, detailing the property and rye grass overseeding of tees, range tees and around the clubhouse.


A lot of work, but a lot of fun as well.  GMS always enjoys helping with property coverage assignments and helping the maintenance operation and course conditions progress.


Enjoyed Bakersfield and this golf course!

High Hampton - Dirty Dancing ???

Make sure to tune into ABC on Wednesday, May 24 (8 pm Eastern).


GMS is pleased to be the golf course maintenance provider at High Hampton Inn and Country Club in Cashiers, NC.


High Hampton was used for various scenes / shoots in the upcoming premier of the "Dirty Dancing" film remake.  Great to be a part of stuff like this.  Thanks to Jeff Frontz (golf course superintendent) for all of his hard work at this great property.
